Dr Colin Brown
Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon
(Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon)
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (since 1995) and qualified in Medicine 1986 (University of Otago). He is a past President of the Australasian society of Paediatric Otolaryngology (ANZSPO). He is also a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Auckland.
While he cares for many types of disorders of the head and neck region and sinuses, he specialises in surgery of the ear. He is a consultant ear surgeon to Starship Children's Hospital, treating and operating on a wide range of ear diseases, deformities and deafness.
Dr Brown co-ordinates the Starship Microtia- Atresia multidisciplinary clinic (for children born with small or missing ears), and multi disciplinary meetings concerning the care of deaf children and their progress with cochlear implants and hearing aids.
Dr Brown has two daughters at university and his wife works in public healthcare funding. The family have two small black Schnoodle dogs to provide constant 'protection' duty.

Fleur joined our team June 2013, and works contributing to new patient assessments, follow up checks and ear cleaning and wax removal.
Fleur is a very experienced theatre Nurse at Starship Children's Hospital, and assists Dr Brown with complex ear surgery there every Monday. She has also developed great skill in diagnosing ear nose and throat problems in the clinic environment and has a wealth of information she is able to share with patients and their families. In addition to her two jobs, Fleur is also doing further post graduate studies which will enable her to prescribe medications.
